BackTo60 take to the London streets to project their case to get their pension money back

While MPs were enjoying drinks and snacks in parties and receptions across London last week – I admit I was at one in the gardens of Westminster Abbey – a team of intrepid campaigners from BackTo60 took to the streets with the support Media Gang Guerrilla Marketing.

They stopped outside the Bank of England, The Law Courts in the Strand and opposite the House of Parliament to project images backing the 50s bornwomen campaign. One of my blogs was projected on the Bank of England and the Backto60 logo appeared on the side of Parliament overlooking the Thames.

Certainly if nothing else this campaign is creative – equal to some of the stunts of the younger generation. They should be proud that people never give up campaigning.

    • Me too. 65 at beginning of June this year. Have to wait till January 2030 before I can even claim my State Pension, then a further 4 weeks to wait for payment. In terms of “non equality”; my husband, 65 in March 1953, got his first payment 3 weeks after his birthday. No much equality then, just a load of cobblers and hot air from MP!!!!! 🤬🤬🤬

  2. Not right to have done this to Women born in the 1950’s not enough notice given to make savings enough to cover this delayed payment.
Did we get letters? No I don’t think so…..

Amazing footage the women should be so proud of themselves. The more were out there the more people will listen.
I said earlier those women not born in the 1950’s have no comprehension of what it’s like. I talk to younger women at work and they look at me as if to say we’ve all got to work longer ……

The cover up by DWP and government has given the impression people are living longer that’s why we have to increase the retirement age. The general public don’t question why because we all naively believe these people are trustworthy.

Well back to 60 journalist David and our legal team have un covered a deluge of cover ups and lies. The public have a right to know what crooks we have running the government and it’s offices.

Maybe we should look at if we have the right people in prison for fraudulent actions.

    • Agree, but 1960s women in the same boat and have been let down badly too. For a girl born in 1961 has now to work to 67 ie c.51 years instead of her expected 60. And of course many of that age had no idea of this and no notification from officials in DWP!

  5. Brill campaign film Backto60! Love it! A projection highlighting our stolen bus passes too would be good. Inequality and division? Women in England outside of London and Merseyside have to wait for up to SIX long, long, long years to receive a bus pass. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland seem not to have as many psychopathic MPs and politicians as we have here in England.

  8. Thank you ladies for your spirit. I love it. I am also a victim of these daylight robbers. I have health issues but still must find a new job at 62 years of age. I won’t hold my breath. I have no savings but thankfully a husband who shares his wages . I apparently am expected to survive on £10.40 a day. LAUGHABLE.

  9. This is what our Crowdfunding is paying for. And worth every penny. It is vital to keep this injustice in the public eye. Thank you for sharing this David and for your unstinting support.

  10. Yes not only our pensions but our bus pass too I come under Bradford and have to wait till I’m 66 to get one but if I lived in London or Scotland or Wales I would get one at 60 this isn’t right either.
I’m 61 and I’m getting more and more depressed knowing I should be enjoying life I have worked since 16 and praying that justice will proval.
My pension was stolen please give us it back.

  11. This is a visual validation of the unjust way the 1950s women have been treated, let’s hope all responsible people in our capital can see these images and show some empathy to the cause, after all they or their families could be next .
    Very well done
Joanne well done on Salford Radio tonight, thank you.

  16. Just read 4/7/19 This is Money
” How much are state pension and benefits worth”

They made a comment that ” recent measures to pensions in the starting age have aimed to make them affordable as we live longer. To avoid past mistakes the Government needs to make sure any changes are communicated well in advance.

Says it all really even money experts can see the DWP mega cock ups of the past.
