Met Police probe former Tory Cabinet minister and a filmed gay sexual abuse party

Met police have seized a picture and amateur film from a known paedophile of a gay sex party attended by a former Tory cabinet minister where boys were sexually abused some 30 years ago.

A report in today’s Exaro News and the Sunday Mirror  reveals that the Met Police’s Paedophile obtained the information under their Operation Fairbank scoping inquiry. The paedophile cannot be named for legal reasons and the ex-minister is not being named as it would interfere with police operations.

The unit is focussing on a series of parties in London three decades ago at which boys were supplied for the sexual gratification of men.

Sources close to the investigation say that this line of enquiry will spin-off from Fairbank to become a separate operation with its own name in the New Year.

Exaro has also learnt that police have “talked to” the ex-minister about his attendance at the “sex party”.

The ex-minister, according to the sources, confirmed to police that he was at the party, and that he “knew of” a specific victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons. But the ex-minister denied that he carried out any sexual abuse.

The new information obtained by the police follows two separate but linked operations,Operation Fernbridge and Operation Fairbank – one sparked off by one of my sources and the other by Tom Watson, MP who  made allegations in the Commons.

The police action follows a setback when the Crown Prosecution Service dropped charges against two people in connection with abusing boys at Elm Guest House in the London borough of Richmond. Separately the police made a decision to release without  charge, Harry Kasir, the former co-manager of the guest house.

While it would be wrong to speculate about police inquiries, I think it is worth pointing out that in this long investigation the Met Police Paedophile Unit seems to be woefully inadequately resourced to handle all the leads it gets. When you realise that fewer police are employed in this tightly knit unit than the Met Police employ to pursue the Plebgate affair and journalists from News International, you wonder who sets the priorities. It is not to say that Plebgate or News International should not be pursued, but one would have thought the life damaging crime of child sexual abuse should receive the highest priority for police investigations. excluding say murder or terrorism. It is clearly not

  1. None of us are naive enough to think it is under staffed for normal operational reasons. It is under staffed so it takes forever to get to the truth. What will eventually need to happen for this to move forward is for someone to leak that video footage.

  2. I agree with the comment above, delaying tactics would delay or inevitably never open the bag of worms that is rife in various elements of our countries hierarchy.

  4. I am sure David and Exaro don’t need to be told but keep it under wraps. No matter what questions or requests are made from the public you cannot afford to give anybody a chance to sabotage this. We have tooo much riding on this for the sake of short term fame etc

  5. I sincerely hope that what looks like procrastination is actually circumspection – either way, this is prolonging the agony for the guilty as well as for the innocent – if not moreso – which offers a shed of comfort.

  6. I have problems with the story, and they are mainly technological ones. How many people had access to film making equipment in the early 80s? Would the technology still be available to play it? What kind of camera could take stills in a sauna? And why on earth would a politician allow himself to be filmed or photographed?

  7. This is indeed a hot potato, and of course delaying tactics are in play. it surprises me how members of today’s police force are totally devoid of conscience, someone in the force knows the truth about these rings of perverts, and could make the world of difference in this investigation if they were to tell the truth, However lying comes from the top, and when Tom Watson asked in the house, for an inquiry to be conducted, David Cameron said he did not know as to the member of number 10 he was referring to,he was lying. There are others being protected, and who think they are above the law.

      • David I have read the e-mail and now fully understand your position.so I withdraw my comment above, This is such an emotive subject and many including myself would like to see these perverts put behind bars were they belong then they will get the punishment they so deserve.
        thanks David

  8. All this speculation and rumour of an ex-Cabinet Minister being caught on videos seized by customs on your colleague’s Eaxaro site- would that explain the Video Recordings Act 1984? Or could it even explain the origin of a smear campaign against a particular Cabinet Minister from that period? (Just been watching a documentary about Peckinpah’s Straw Dogs and I may be reading too much into things).
